Autonomous Production Planning and Execution

Within the autonomous factory of the future, we dynamically map production skills of the machines and workplaces to product specific requirements in order to generate all possible executable workflows under given logistical and other constraints. Flexibility degrees of freedom inherent in the process, such as alternatives in the choice of machines and relative ordering of certain operations, are used to automatically optimize the production flow for a given set of orders at production time. This brings about substantial gains in productivity compared to classic production control approaches. The simultaneous optimization of machine and transport planning pays off particularly in matrix like production setups with strongly diverse routings. Engineering effort is significantly reduced by the skill approach, which allows to manage large families of product variants all at once. This is particularly important for individualized, highly variable production.

With our flexible production control software, we address a variety of industry domains including Automotive and Electronics, where individualized production at the highest possible efficiency plays a major role. A real life realization at the Siemens Electronics Works in Fürth is close to completion.
